Getting ready for the summer! Picked up some tires today, still looking for wheels.

Finally hard-wired the Blackvue and the Escort 9500i. I didn't have the Smartcord, so a DIY solution was done (thanks, internet!):

Thanks! Roberto and I are developing a plan to resolve it. I'll pass the message onto him.

Also for anyone curious, I went with 17s because:

* It's cheaper to customize
* winter tires are also cheaper
* You get a better ride especially with soft winter tires

It'll be 18s again for the summer!

Wow the whole package looks great together.

Not sure if this helps with the paint issue or not but I was told VW clear coat has a yellow tinge to it whereas most body shops clear is just clear. I noticed this when I repainted my CW Mk5

Thanks, peeps! Derek, I'm not sure if it's because of the angle of the photo but I'll check again in the morning.

The fuel door and spoiler definitely don't match exactly because they're plastic.

Looks decent. Passenger rear 1/4 panel paint color looks slightly off though compared to the door!

After a month of no car, the work was finally done! Here is Madison with her new shoes:














Also, some maintenance had to be done while it was under the knife. An air line got caught but it's resolved:











I was aslo able to procure some OEM+ items such as:


- Auto-dimming rear view mirror
- Audi TTRS leather shift knob
- HPA short shifter
- APR High Pressure Fuel Pump

So winter is coming, and it was time for some major surgery. The wavy, bacon fenders were becoming a nuisance so I had to get it fixed.


Upon talking to some Euro enthusiasts around town, I ended up consulting the help of Roberto and Compact Tuning Lab in Calgary (compacttuninglab.com). Their shop primarily worked on JDM but the Euro scene is growing around Calgary and he was able to entertain my project.





The last time the Audi Rotor wheels were on. Sold them already.


I canvassed around town and a local seller (Thanks to Rhys @ Revwerks!) was able to help me with winter wheels. Upon talking with Rhys, I ended up with ESR SR02 wheels in 17x8.5 ET30





I bought 225/45/17 Gislaved Nordfrost 100 studded tires for this but the fitment game was going to be interesting.


225's were chunky! Could it be done?

















Answer was... No.





I had to reassess the situation and get some Bridgestone Blizzak in 215/45/17


While those were being shipped, the fronts got flared even further.

Less than a week after the bags were installed, a bunch of us Dubbers drove >2k km's to Leavenworth, WA for a Pacific Northwest car meet weekend.

The car rode fine and the setup handled beautifully, especially on Chuckanut Drive.

Ineed my fenders rolled!

Have to edit some photos but I'm waiting for the designated photographers for our trip to post some.

I was averaging 7.5-8L/100kms, which was awesome for the power I get.
