Im.. not actually sure LOL i originally contacted C2, but they didnt make the chip i wanted (with all these deletes) for NA cars. Apparently they stopped actually making custom chips and just sell a bunch of stock quick flashes with certain things on them, so they referred me to some other company (C2s supplier i presume?). I ended up dealing through C2 but my chip was not made by them. Its really confusing haha, it was a loooong process.

Throughout the whole process i contacted Natty, TT, Garrett/GIAC, and C2.. all that i was mostly after was the deletes to get rid of my CEL.

Yeah that seal sucks. The oil cooler seal on winter beater VR6 would leak like crazy in the -30 weather, but would seal fine in the positive temperatures.

What chip did you go with?

Today: EPIC WIN!... and then a bit of fail.

Finished up the tiny jobs, filled the car up with fluids and...

May have "forgotten" to bolt the header onto the rest of the exhaust..... oops
So, heres me thinking "nah, i dont need to replace those oil cooler seals"... I have never been so wrong. Did some reading up and.....

Yeah, oops, guess i missed that part. Oh well, picked up some seals from the Northland Stealership so hopefully all will be solved tomorrow! Also, my new chip arrived today for the SAI/02 sensor/PCV/EVAP delete and to take advantage of my now higher compression. Fun times.

First off, i dont know what was wrong with the white balance settings this week lol... too lazy to fix it in photoshop buuttttt...

Things are starting to wrap up! With the tranny in i got the other two motor mounts bolted in and i could remove the engine support bar. The engine is sitting a little slanted, googled it and apparently thats normal, can any mechanics here confirm? Also, guess i completely bent my powesteering hardline out of place at some point, so i had to wrestle with that for a bit... (fun) other than that, things are looking good!

So, shifters connected, clutch/brakes bled, axles in (and torqued.. looking at you Jerry), hubs reconnected to the control arms, final engine accessories like alternator and powersteering pump were wrestled on, exhaust all done, majority of plumbing and all wiring done!

All thats left is to attach the throttle cable, air filter install the rad and the final two upper/ lower rad hoses, install the ignition system, fill'er up with fluids and hopefully we have a running car early next week! Stay tuned!

Mini update this week, it was planned that the tranny would go in early this week, but we encountered a problem with the motor mount. Earlier i posted the carnage from the front mount, but monday i discovered that the engine side rear mount didnt fare so well either, it was bent and a bolt broke off into it. Wasted some time with the torch, drill and hammer fixing it. Helicoiled the treads and everything was good!

But oh well, finally, clutch and transmission are in! Next week everything gets bolted down and torqued, final motor mounts will be installed with BFI poly bushings. Hopefully my new tune arrives soon and i can wrap this project up with rewiring and plumbing! *fingers crossed*

Sorry.. jsut to calrify, Jetta/Golf door cards do not fit GTIs, I just called them GLX door cards cause the GLXs had this style... i didnt actually know there was a 2 door version till this weekend because my car was fully loaded from the factory and i just have those lame sticky vinyl ones. For the record these came off a 1998 GTI VR6 .. so perhaps its a later model option? Maybe Mitch can chime in with his knowledge.
