What color did it get painted then? What paint code did they use?

That guy said he used the right code, but I was with Jason dealing with that guy the entire time, the sketchiest guy I've ever met, don't ever trust a guy called Roger from southeast calgary. This guy has no work ethnic what so ever, he said bondoing the newly welded in panel was not stated so he painted over warped metal without any filling. Also, his son does not know how to do math, using a calculator he was able to get $1900,$1800 from $800+$900, either way he is a rip off, his son is a rip off, his whole family is a rip off.

Also, his excuse for spraying the wrong color was "nobody is paying me to send photos", well nobody will pay you to sand down that mk3 and repaint it, he is retarded.

The color is ginster dough undercooked effect.

SIGH... So... got my car back today and its totally... not... Ginster Yellow.



Im.. speechless right now, its getting repainted in hopefully Ginster Yellow, for no cost.. but im just so baffled as to what went wrong in the process... Hopefully Evan can chime in....

So, with that, this car will not be making it to CloseToHome.. which sucks cause I busted my ass finishing up everything else in the last month. Definitely not a happy camper, but ill see you all on Sunday... will be accepting free hugs..

So the cars at the painters again to fix the issues... untill then i shall be patiently awaiting the return of my bowl of Dijon mustard.

Thanks guys, im so stoked to mount these things!! The colour is crazy when the sun hits it, just wish i could get this car back... >:(

Anybody have some black dip? gonna dip my texture stuff to protect it and even the colour out. Cant wait to get the final pieces in the mail.. (for now).

So, car was sent off for paint last weekend. It was suppose to be back this weekend but more damage has been found.. so next week it is(hopefully). Its gonna be tight for Close To Home but im confident that itll make it.

So, while im sitting around with no car i took the horribly colour matched sideskirts, sanded them down and textured them. Did the grille too, but no pic.






Also.. finally finished my wheels Pretty pumped about these.

For the rust on the hatch you should wire wheel all the rust away, then cover it in POR-15. Sand the POR-15, then whatever the POR-15 didn't fill get with skim coat. That's what I did for my MK2.

Don't mold the tub to the trunk, the closing will cause flex and it will crack. Just a matter of when.

Hmm... thats what i figured as well... what if i use fiberglass instead of just bondo? ill have a talk with my paint/ body guy.

What do you think about that rocker panel? Anyone else have anything to chime in?

Got alot done this weekend (even if it doesnt seem like it)
Firstly, got my side skirts off.. didnt find much rust but apparently the PO didnt know how to jack



Im contemplating weather to get this fixed or not, the side skirts cover it (didnt know the damage was there for 7 years)
Also got my brakes blasted and a fresh coat of red put on them. Thanks to Terry/Tristan (Thor) for the rear brakes, i finally got the correct brake lines to run them, no more seized e-brakes for me!





Then i took apart the front end to look for some hidden rust. Nothing major at all, POR-15 on all the seams just in case. Sadly, the hatch was a little worse than i thought... paint was supposed to happen this weekend but im taking Hooddub's advice and delaying it to give me some time to decide what i want to do with my hatch situation. If i cant find a better one im thinking i may fix all the rust, and then mold the actual tub the the hatch. No more water leaks that way, im just concerned about the flexing causing cracks over time.. any input would be greatly appreciated!





And atlast, i finally located an old lip from a Volvo. Mounted that sucker up (thanks Jerry). I think it looks really aggressive, perfect for the look im trying to go for.
