i think you've proved that you're not ready for a "powerful" car so something practical seems more right. i also find it classless to talk about your financial situation. it comes across as bragging.

3rd, couldn't agree more, I would have recommended not making any drastic lifestyle changes or major purchases immediately after such a traumatic event. If you haven't already you should soon find someone (an accountant, adviser, whatever) to help make some solid financial decisions

^ Agree with all and that's why both my kids will not get anything till there 25 if something happens to me and the wife . Hopefully they are less impulsive at that age .

Back on topic, my uncle has had two now... a 2011 B8 and 2014 B8.5. He says it's by far his favourite car and he's planning on keeping this one for a long time. I haven't driven a tuned on yet, but even stock they're fairly quick.
I got tired of reading so if someone definitively answered this after the quoted post forgive me.

STASIS IS GONE, Revo bought themselves back from the merger, Stasis filed for bankruptcy and all operations have ceased. IF you have a Stasis warrantied car........Best of luck to you.

Stasis has been a shady operation for many years, I posted on this site some of the crap they pulled in the purchase of Eurojet, furthermore, they were never anything more than a rebranding agent for multiple products.

Do not mourn the loss of such a shitty company, that was actually being partially funded by the people of the commonwealth of VA

Also, to address the 8.5 vs 8. The sole mechanical difference is in an updated DSG, the esthetics of the front end changed (the .5 indicates a facelift, not a mech change) The new DSG actually has a lower final drive and a lower redline as dictated by the DSG computer, making for a more fuelly happy car. The fastest 1/4mi times and highest trap speeds are still held by B8's, most likely because there are more of them tuned. When APR and GIAC released their files, they released their latest versions first to the new B8.5's, B8's had to wait until a couple of weeks ago for the GIAC V2, which made considerably more power than their previous version.

So long story short, the B8 and B8.5 will offer identical performance as a 6mt, and vary an imperceptible amount on the DSG

My priorities are different than some one such as yourself in your 20's. I would rather have a little now with more down the road(and a lot more money in my pocket) or you can have everything right now and potentially being broke sooner than you think. But that's just my 2 cents.

It sounds to me like they're very closely related now, but I could be wrong.

The S4/S5 is the 335 competitor and the RS4/RS5 is the M3 competitor. I haven't driven a 335, so I can't really comment on performance. I know STaSIS had a tune for the 2013/14 models and from what I can see on the APR website, it looks like they have one as well.
Owned a 335, the stock performance was alright, nothing special, more high power luxury. The S4 seems more performance oriented to me, it also seems to have a much higher top end for power via tuning. The 335 with the N54 peaks at about 380-400 with stock turbos (changing turbos requires the engine to be dropped), the S4 seems to easily exceed that.

I've yet skimmed the surface, this is my self allotted "fun" money.

Ahhh... Was talking to the salesman and he was talking about stasis a bit, he was very excited to see the M3, he used to work at BMW.

It's gonna pain me to see the M go, but I think it deserves a home with a collector, not a young kid who will actually drive it and expose it to the elements. That and practicality is really taking principle here.

The thing Danny said about summer cars... So true. I'm like a toddler, I'll cry if you take my toys away for a season.

I've always though owning a car for just summer is dumb. if I'm gonna own a car i love, i wouldn't be letting it sit in a garage for 8 months every year. Cars are meant to be driven.

tj's s4 has a tune and it is already crazy. superchargers sound unreal, and obviously amazing for winter.

stasis is gonzo, but i think revo kinda took them over?
