Agreed with what Compton said, mods for a 2L are limited and won't really get you much.

Also, look into pricing carefully, since the City Golfs have come out you can basically get a new GL for around 16 grand so a used one should be around 10 or less depending on year/mileage etc.

Im guessing that its a 2L that your looking at?!

If your really looking to mod the car(engine wise) i would get a 1.8T or a VR6, you will drop too much money into a 2L and you will hardly get any gains out of it. The 2L is really realiable and you will hardly encounter any problems with it.

I couldnt do without power windows so i had to get a GLS but its all up to you.

I'm looking soon to finalize a deal on an '02 Golf GL, and I was wondering if anyone had any major input that could help speed up my decesion process, anything useful at all.

Purchasing this vehichle I will be looking into mods, but not right off the bat.

Seems like a great car to have fun in while getting point to and from A and B - fairly cheap, low km's, good shape, etc.

Realiable? Easy to mod? Any major things I should be watching out for?

Any help is wonderful.
