Yea for what its worth, I wouldnt waste time or money doing up an 8v on a mk4. Keep it simple for reliability's sake, esp if its your daily driver.

    2.0 8v in a mk1 or 2, well that would be different.

Yes, I think you made out better than you would have from Sporttech.

    Congrats!

The city is out of my budget.

    I bought a car tonight from 5th Avenue Veedub -- 2002 Volkswagen Golf GLS 2.0L -- 115,000 km's with CPO 2 year warrenty for $12,600.

I'm really, really happy! Especially for a first car, runs so well, great features, just a great car I'm glad to have.

I'll get some photos soon, I'm picking it up Saturday morning -- I can't wait to start driving that thing.

Thank you everyone, I look forward to becoming a more active member on this website.

Take er' with ease -- cheers!

Yes, arent CPO's usually trade-ins where as non CPO could have come from anywhere, stateside, auction etc. Buying a CPO S4 from Glenmore Audi is one thing, but maybe kind of risky when its a used golf from a mud-lot.

Sheesh, just spend a little more and get a brand new citi golf, like others here have mentioned.

Yea I would agree. Plus there must be a kazillion 2.0 golfs around that you shouldn't need to get one through a dealer.

Plus......I guess I think most of those places are scams which I'm sure there are some that aren't.

Have you looked at a City golf yet? They may have better financing than the bank which means you could possibly get a new car for the same monthly payment.

    Just trying to help out.

You pay GST for one thing, no? 600 dollars on a 10K car can buy quite a few repairs.

What's the problem? I've heard stories but nothing too discouraging.

This place is called 'Sport Tech Auto' and all their cars get serviced at Dale Adams and apparently that place is tough on car servicing.
