Re: Official "Who has Vag-Com" Thread
I live in South central Edmonton and have the newest USB version (KEY-COM I think).
I am looking to borrow TDI timing belt tools if anyone would trade for a while.
If you need a scan e-mail me at alex.campbell@edmonton.ca

Removing my battery can require a scan? I must have just got lucky the few times I've unhooked it or taken it out.Originally posted by Volkstech View Postmay need a quick scan due to removal of battery

Re: Official "Who has Vag-Com" Thread
It is built into the price now. Ross-tech wanted to stop people from pirating their software and that was the best way to do it. Really I don't blame them.Originally posted by RONDAL View Postso you need the key-usb units, but you have to buy the full software package to get it? ugghhhh. i liked technology more when it was free

Re: Official "Who has Vag-Com" Thread
Rosstech no long updates the old software. Therefor to use the latest software you have to have a adapter with a dongle built in (key and new hex series). You can scan and clear codes with the shareware version but that is about it.

Re: Official "Who has Vag-Com" Thread
i think if you just want the basic features, you can get away with the older shareware version and an ebay cable. the new version needs the new cable that has a dongle in it, which is what the vag-com software looks for for all the features to be available. I think the latest version you d/l from rosstech requires a cable with a dongle... maybe...

Re: Official "Who has Vag-Com" Thread
see thats the cord i want but i dont need the other stuff. whats this restriction all about?
*restricted access: registration and approval required.
is it so you use a licensed version of VAG-com? i have rosstech's shareware version which is more than enough for identifying codes and what not.
