United Motorsports ECU/DSG/Launch Control tunes

I was talking to Shawn @ VND Motorsport (http://www.vndmotorsport.com/) over in Vancouver about ECU and DSG combo tune for my R32 and was about to ship my ECU to him but then he realized he can't bench load the DSG file.

So to get around this, we are discussing shipping over a loaner tool to do the flashes. I figured that if he is actually able to put together a loaner tool for me, why not see if anyone else is interested. I remember a few people (IIRC, Ben and another Mk4 R32 from Edm) said they wanted UM tunes but didn't want to go through the hassle of shipping out their ECU.

As of right now Canadians don't have access to the UM loaner tool program that the dealers in the States run, so I'm not exactly sure if Shawn is going to work with UM on creating a loaner tool or if Shawn is going to put together his own, either way the more people who are interested in tunes should help speed up the process.

I haven't discussed any discounts (and I doubt there will be) so for now prices are exactly as shown on the UM website (http://www.unitedmotorsport.net/). I don't think they have have all their tunes listed on the website, so if you are interested but can't find your car listed, I can try to help you find out.

Wicked! I am in! I was just talking to this same guy at VND about sending out my ecu and getting the UM flash on it!

Guys, as a huge UM supporter I can just give you one piece of advise. GET THE LAUNCH CONTROL!!!! Its only $100 bucks more and you wont use it that often, but in that situation you do use it, you will realize it was the best money spent!!! Hopefully this all works out well for you guys!

Ben, I agree with Pat - get the launch control!

Luckily for us MKV R32s we already get launch control. I believe we can choose between 4400RPM or 5400RPM launch control.

I'm in! Up here in Edmonton though. My car is in storage so i'd have to ship the ECU down to one of you or drive down with the ecu.

I'm sure they can do something for you - I emailed UM a while back ( telling them I am in Canada ) and here was the response…

For 'big turbo' software I require the ecu to some to me for bench flashing.

We have remote flash tool service, if no UM dealer is close enough to you.

I am forwarding this to Jesse who runs the remote tool program.
He can provide you with some cost and details.

my car had a giac tune when i bought it, looking forward to seeing the difference between it and the UM

im undecided on the launch control to be honest, i have read great things but i really like launching with no input from anything computerized, just my own reactions and inputs. you might have to try and convince me lol
