Nope not really. All it does is throws a bunch of air into the exhaust valves i believe to heat up the cat to operating temperatures.

Pretty much, no issue at all, esp when you have no cat to heat up like me :P

Definitely SAI, my VR6 does it

Secondary air pump, could be failing or the hose could be broken or have come off.

so a weird thing has been happening with the car whenever i start it up now. just started doing it last night after the rain storm.... whenever i start the car, a loud fan comes on and stays on for a few seconds, and then turns off. almost sounds like a jet engine or something LOL. looked around and said that it has something to do with emissions or something? not too sure. anyone know what this is about, and/or why its doing this?

well i havent received much interest in the golf, so looks like im keeping it for a little longer, which im ok with. window tint, and hopefully some rims that actually fit are the plan for now. still indecisive on low or not. as they say, make the best out of a bad situation. not really a bad situation, but you get the point.

yup, the strut bushings would be the problem lol.
