Re: twopointslow
If you get one of the above beams, I'd be one of a few volunteers that would help swap it out.

Re: twopointslow
Swapping in a new/used beam is a pretty simple task, only a few hours worth of work and maybe $50 from a used car lot. Just a thought if you wanted to keep the car
PS please tell the new buyer about the bent beam issue with the car if you decide to sellLast edited by MechEngg; 10-29-2014, 02:13 PM.

Re: twopointslow
This is the end of my golf 2.0. Haven't posted on here in some time. explanation time! I was leaving a mall parking lot, and took a corner too sharp and it ended up hitting my rear passenger side tire causing it to bend the rear axle beam. I cant correct the angle with shims because its bent too much. It wears tires pretty quick and the cost to get it fixed is $1400, which I dont think is worth it for my car. So i'm going to sell it. I'm thinking of a mk3 gti vr6 or something. hopefully with a manual transmission. Then saving money in the winter and buying something less beater.

Shoulda got a Passat! My first car was a 2000 Passat 2.8 4motion. Fully loaded. And it cost less then your golf!

Re: twopointslow
looks and acts like 14.... means when im 40 i'll look 20
I'll consider selling it in the winter, but its such a pain in the ass to sell a car, especially when I use it everyday. Plus with the amount of money and maintenance I put into it :S I would love to have a gti, but you can get a 1.8t jetta for cheaper. decisions decisions
