215/40r17 in rear =23.8 overall height
205/45r17 in front = 24.3 overall height

falken ze912 and nitto neogen are available in both sizes, didnt see any brands that we carry in the 195/45r17 tho.

ok so very small update: im going to be ordering new tires pretty soon because i dont have much stretch on the front, or even the rear for that matter. currently its a 225/40 sititng on 8.5&9.5's. this is with 33mm adapters in the front, and 38mm in the back. from looking at the sawblades thread on vortex, it seems like alot of guys run 33mm all around or what i have, the 33/38.

im thinking of moving to a 195/45/17 in the front, and a 215/40/17 in the rear. some guys say that the 215/40 is too small and recommend a 45 instead so it fills the wheel well a bit more, but i would like to go as low as possible, so i think the 40 would look good if i am that low. all i have to do now is find a place that carries these sizes.

thanks for the kind words! I am super excited for the car to come together. and even though its a 2.0, i have fallen in love with the car all over again. doing a complete 180 with the car's exterior is definitely alot of fun.

Do you watch D1GP? There is a RX7 with different color wheels on each side of the car, I think it would look pretty nice with yours, maybe fully polished on one side and white on the other.

Then why would you swap to your summer wheels yet if you are just going to cover them in tape?
Also duct tape i wouldn't recommend for anything on your car, at all. It will either wreck the finish or the residue will be left on there with hot/cold cycles.

thanks, i know these wheels are ridiculously overplayed on the interwebz like vortex, but ive only seen one other set around town so im sure there are only a few.

never been a huge fan of guys putting chevy rims on a vw, the sawblades look better on a mk3 IMO.
But i do like white rims on black cars.
and +1 for doing something different than everyone else in Alberta.
