Quick question; I need to get some repairs / battery replacements done on some of my watches (2 battery replacements...and I may or may not have droped my movado on the floor...its in various pieces). Where do i go for this near downtown?
Not really in most of our price ranges but this Richard Mille is nuts! I love his watches and got to check out a Richard Mille store when I was in KL in a crazy high end mall that had a dude walking around in a bullet proof vest carrying what looked like a well used shotgun!
Watchmaker Richard Mille teams up with top tennis player Rafael Nadal to create a stunning piece of watch design, the RM027 Tourbillon. While a watch seems all but an extraneous need on the tennis court, the ultra lightweight watch will be worn by Nadal on the court. Despite all the consistent movements on court, the watch’s Tourbillon design will ensure maximum accuracy. The watch’s defining point is the astounding weight, tipping the scales at only 20 g (13 g without the strap). The watch is made of carbon-composite as well as titanium and LITAL ®, lithium alloy containing aluminum, copper, magnesium, zirconium (materials used in many lightweight aircraft applications) The watch will be limited to 50 pieces at a suggested price of $525,000.
Cool watch, is the bezel ceramic? I have an ORIS titan chrono that I have owned for 8 months and the bezel is trashed. Oris just came out with their ceramic, I think that is a great improvment for watches with exposed bezels. I guess the marks add character
Don't think so, my bezel is definitely showing some wear. Or patina as I call it. Bright idea by Oris putting a ceramic bezel on.

Hey, just noticed this thread, there are some real watch people
on here, very cool! I picked up a new daily watch last year, I
went with the original Marathon SAR. Its a Canadian made tool
watch with a fairly common swiss automatic movement (ETA 2824).
These watches were made to contract for the Canadian
Department of National Defence by the Marathon Watch
Company. They are issued to select Search and Rescue
Technicians (SAR). The later model (TSAR and GSAR) were issued
to certain branches of the US military as well.
Its not an expensive watch, an original SAR new in box and the
seperately sold steel strap can be had for around $1000
Canadian. You won't find them in a jewelry store or "Watch It" in
the mall, you have to sort of hunt them out, but by all accounts
they can take a fair amount of abuse, which is what I wanted.
If your into Tudor's, here's one for you. My 1962 Tudor sub, cal 390 Rolex movement, original bezel, new OEM crystal, crown and a fresh service! Now on NATO.....no pics of the new strap yet.
New B&Rs seem to drop around mid year, so I would say June-ish you should see them. Holt has a Heritage Instrument in stock, or they did anyway, just not sure on those colours for me personally.
