I just can't pull the trigger on the higher end stuff so I buy lots of mid priced watches.

My last two purchases were a Marathon SAR tool watch (Search and Rescue - Canadian Coast Guard Issue) like this one.

And at Christmas when we were in St. Kitts - I picked up this Hamilton Khaki X Wind pilots watch.

Not sure I really like that one at all, I understand the reasoning but kind of looks too Pirate like to me.

However if you want to part with that Phantom cheap you know where I am

Who am I kidding........ it's wicket!

"The BR 01 Airborne is an anthem to the extraordinary saga of military paratroopers. This new watch is a tribute to those brave young men who fought in one of the toughest army corps, particularly the US Airborne divisions.

The Airborne divisions were born during the Second World War. They were the first to be exposed to danger and the first ones to face death. Their most famous motto was “Death from Above” symbolised by a skull that was a reminder to them of both their power and vulnerability.

Since then, the symbol has spread to other military regiments. It is often embossed on uniforms patches or on fighter planes. The skull is a constant reminder of the omnipresence of death on each military mission."

By wearing the skull, the soldiers are attempting to both defy death and intimidate the enemy

"The BR 01 Airborne reinvents the notion of the talisman, and personifies the very spirit of these outstanding men. It is a genuine tribute to the noblest of military values as well as to the bravery of soldiers who face death on a daily basis to defend their country."

The case, in glass bead blasted steel with black “carbon powder coating”, measures 46mm. It has a sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 100 meters.

Movement is the automatic ETA caliber 2892 with 21 jewels.

Makes sense if you think about it. A guy spends $30-300k on their watch but doesn't want to ware it daily cause of it's value. This way he could ware the rep daily an bring out the real one on special occasions. So far I've had my Bell & Ross for awhile, and i've worn it 3-4 times out in public. (My balls aren't as big as Blair's.) If I had the rep version I rock it lots.......

HAH! Good call on that one, but either way I doubt anyone with more intellect than money would even consider one.

HAH! Here's hoping the girlfriend isn't trolling Eurodrivers because she doesn't know "where" we're going yet. It's going to be a blast, plus that time of year is prime!
