Re: Garage Build
i think i called every asphalt company in the yellow pages... I got in touch with about 3 of them, and they were busy, and the others (lots) didn't even bother calling back. One guy said he'd swing by to give me a quote, and never showed, and I called back, and he said he's swing by again, and didn't show, again.
I think I finally found someone to help me tie in the garage though. We'll see if he shows.

Re: Garage Build
i programmed the door opener remotes, and that was it for today.
I also got my light switches that can me controlled remotely. I still need the gateway that makes the link from the garage door opener to the switch, but when done, I should be able to use the extra buttons on the garage door opener to turn on interior and exterior lights of garage.

Re: Garage Build
ahhahaha!!
brent it should be OK i think i'm not a fan of sanding the ceiling and eating the dust thats all.. i did most parts but nothing like the walls.. FWIW my first DIY mud job i'm damn impressed with my work! a few shitty spots but nothing crazy IMO..
as far as that rubbermaid stuff its brand new stuff that just came out
for anyone that wants to see it

Re: Garage Build
Ryan I think you are going to regret texturing your ceiling. If you think about all the exhaust and dirt that sits in your garage it is going to make it look dirty in no time. Due to the shadowing from the texture it is going to look even worse. I really need to seal my garage floor but it would take me forever to clear everything out
As for building shelves this is how I am going to build mine :Link

Re: Garage Build
I just remember looking at it a couple years ago at homedepot. It may have changed since then. I have a long way to go before I'm in the market for that stuff though, my garage is too damn big and is going to need a lot of work.
Sounds like the garage is really coming along Stefan, that's some really quick progress.

Re: Garage Build
Make sure you take a look at the rubbermaid stuff before you commit to anything, it's like all the garage stuff, it looks good in pictures and you think for the money it should be really nice.....until you look at it. Even the Craftsman stuff seemed really flimsy.
I bought some shelving from wallmart for 25 or 30 bucks that was almost as good of quality only problem it's white malemine.

Re: Garage Build
stefan.. i called that garage place about the rubbermaid stuff.. he was really cool and said for the basic things like the shelves and random hooks for tools/bikes,etc its cheaper to go to homedepot and crappy tire as they carry it also.. he said they can get the cabinets for it though as homedepot won't sell them
