Re: Non bacon car
Damn that looks good Danny! Just noodling but what about gold wrap on the mirrors and matte black on the window trim? Any chance of getting those side skirts back so we can mold em in CF?

Yep! Give them your vin and they can check for you.Originally posted by EDOthug View PostIm not sure if recalls have been completed on my car. Im assuming i just call Glenmore audi and ask them to check? They're gonna have a hell of a time getting my car on a lift if need be...
And yeah... I know how you feel. I did mine not too long after I bought my car. So it was still sport suspension height haha. Might be worth it to spend an hour to lift your car prior to going there. It's not THAT time consuming to raise your Coilovers....

When I got my car I had 3 recalls done. One of which being the crank case breather!
Also, I wouldnt really suggest frankenturbo (IF It is your turbo), as you'd have to get a custom tune for it. K04 is done by every tuner as just a stage 3 tune.
And bob. These tunes are ~5-10 years old =( The only new tunes that are out there are JHM.
Which companies have frankenturbo files out?Originally posted by harkema116 View PostLots of companies have frankenturbo tunes now, definitely would never go with a regular k04, the bang for your buck factor is definitely with the frankenturbo. We've run them on a bunch of cars in red deer and never had a problem

Re: Non bacon car
When you accelerated in front of me there was some blue smoke. Not sure if it was audi or you left some edo leftovers under the hood when working on it.

Re: Non bacon car
Thanks sean, I'm going to be doing a variety of little tests and checks to see what is going on. Ive been told it can be a whole bunch of things that could be causing this.Originally posted by MechEngg View PostIf it's coming on upon deceleration then it's probably not going to be the turbo is it? When turbo seals are going bad they typically blow blue smoke at the start of acceleration, AKA taking off from red lights.
It sounds like a crankcase ventilation issue to me, you pressurize it with some blowby around the rings when you are on high boost and you start to notice the blue smoke when the crankcase can't properly vent itself. Take apart the charge piping by the intercooler and see if you can pour some oil out of the IC.
Thanks!Originally posted by witchcraftz View PostThe Gold looks awesome.
the valve cover gasket has been sweating for a couple months now. I haven't gotten around to changing it. Its good to hear that its probably not the turbo. It would surprise me if it is, as the car only has 100k on it. and i don't beat the p*ss out of it.Originally posted by bobkatkat View PostExtra boost will quickly overwhelm the OEM PCV system. Especially with these new high boost tunes. If the valve-cover weeping is new/post tune then you may have a blockage there is pressure building. If the extra boost is just pushing more vapor through the intake they you will see some sign of fresh oil sitting in the Throttle body and other intake plumbing. Chances are your turbo is fine( for now
) failing turbo seals usually show up smoking on a cold engine and get better after warm.Last edited by Danaldson; 08-17-2015, 09:19 AM.
